The application might not be up-to-date. We suggest that you run the Windows app troubleshooter to help resolve how Movie Maker works on your end. If the issue still persists, you can uninstall and re-install the same application and try if you can perform a slideshow in it.

Thank you for your suggestion.  I ran the troubleshooter, but it said that the Windows Store cache may be damaged.  And, that was the end of that!  So, I uninstalled and re-installed the application, and I was able to get the photos into the program.  I still have to try music.  But, I see this version does not have the capabilities of versions that came with older versions of Windows. I use to be able to choose the type of transition, color background, and most importantly, sync the length of the slideshow to the music chosen.  Am I missing something, or do I need to use another program/app?

There might still have a bug on the application. You can try to install another Movie maker, make sure that it also have a feature to create slideshow with music.

You can try to type Windows Movie Maker Windows 10 on this link for better application that you can use.

The best slideshow maker around is at RendrFX. I just plug in all my pictures to one of their premade templates and add free audio from their media library and then I'm done. Check it out - http://www.rendrfx.com/slideshow-maker-with-music
